Schedule

Before the Course

If you book well before your course, you will receive an email containing the link to your PADI Freediver Touch materials, which you can then review on-line or off-line on your phone, tablet or PC.

The PADI Freediver Touch includes an online-exam. Once you have reviewed the materials, and passed the online exam, you will be well prepared for the review and follow-up theory session on day 1 of your course.

Day 1

On the first day we meet at our centre where we start by getting an paperwork out of the way and go on with the quick review and follow-up theory session, to be followed by the pool training in our in-house pool. We usually have lunch together at a restaurant around the corner and then continue with theory and pool training until approximately 17:00-18:00, depending on progress during the day.

Day 2

Day two is the first open water day in your formal Freediving experience. We meet at 9:00 at the small longtail-pier in Chalong and leave with a traditional longtail boat to the open water training site, which is about a 30-40 minute ride. We have two sessions with a break for rest and water and will return between 13:00 and 14:00. After a lunch break, we meet in the afternoon at our centre for a session- and course debrief and any left paperwork.

We are usually finished by 18:00 of day 2 of the course

Please note that all times are approximate and may differ for individual instances of this course. Please refer to your booking to verify the schedule.

Prerequisites

In order to try freediving you need to be able to swim at least 200 metres non-stop (any style). Swimming is a basic requirement for any and all in-water activities. It is a simple skill that guarantees your basic safety in any body of water, be it a pool or the open seas.

If your swimming is not that polished, never worry! We offer swim training for absolute beginners.

Certification

This Beginner freediving course is a fully PADI certified foundation course - of course certification can only be issued when certification requirements have been met, that is, if you are comfortable in the water and apply the theory covered in online-training and classroom sessions during the in-water sessions.

This is the quickest way to becoming an open-water certified freediver. If you want to focus on Theory and Pool training first, see our available short training
